What happens when we lean in?

When we stay a little longer.
Listen a little more deeply.
Follow an impulse a little further.
Risk being seen.
Let ourselves be surprised.

Lean In is an invitation to meet what is here with curiosity and courage—to move toward rather than away, to explore the edges of what we know, and to discover what becomes possible when we offer a little more of ourselves to the dance.

Movement Medicine® is a conscious dance practice that invites you to follow the intelligence of life moving through you. Through movement, we practice inhabiting the body more fully—listening inwardly while staying present to the world around us. We dance with the elemental forces of earth, air, fire, and water, exploring what it means to be both rooted and responsive. Moving together, we discover how awareness opens the possibility for choice, connection, and meaning.

Held in a safe, nourishing container, the practice invites a deeper sense of home in the body—opening space for the heart and offering the mind a place to rest. No experience is needed; if your heart is beating, the dance is already alive in you.

About us: Thomas Lucas is a pychotherapist who works at the intersection of body, heart, and mind, using somatically based IFS and Natural Processing approaches. Carolyn Cooke is a Gestalt Coach and a lifelong explorer of embodied learning, somatic awareness, and movement.  We met on the dance floor in 2000 and have been discovering how we move through life – alone and together – ever since. In 2019, we answered the call of Movement Medicine, apprenticing for a year with founders Ya’Acov & Susannah Darling Khan. From that listening, teaching emerged. We’re delighted to be sharing this work—and the dance—with you.

This workshop welcomes both complete beginners and experienced movers. There is no choreography to get right, and no dance experience or ability is necessary —just a willingness to move and explore the familiar and the unknown.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund is available up to 7 days before each class. A $5 administration fee will be charged if you cancel within 7 days of the class.
